In The Footsteps of Paul

Three times I was beaten with rods. Once I was stoned. Three times I was shipwrecked. Once I spent a whole night and a day adrift at sea. I have traveled on many long journeys. I have faced danger from rivers and from robbers. I have faced danger from my own people, the Jews, as well as from the Gentiles. I have faced danger in the cities, in the deserts, and on the seas. From persecutor to prophet, Paul has been a great many things to a great many people. The ‘chief amongst sinners’ became one of the most prominent leaders of the early church and one of the reasons that you and I are here today. Letters from Heaven and Hell (C.S. Lewis’ Screwtape Letters & R.C. Sproul’s Knowing Scripture).
Richard Andrews (DVJ Family Life Center - Room 208)
The class will continue the discussion of the Screwtape Letters. Following their completion we will study R.C. Sproul’s Knowing Scripture which gives us the tools to read the Bible, God’s letters to us, for all it’s worth. The basic rules for Biblical interpretation will be discussed along with the reliability of God’s Word. The goal is to know how our tempter behaves and how the Bible reveals God’s truth.

| God's Provision For Our Healing and Health
Abioye Emmanuel Olaoye (DVJ Family Life Center - Science Lab)
God wants His children healthy and well. He also wants to heal you if you are sick or hurting. However, healing and health does not just fall on people like over-ripe cherries. In these studies, we will closely examine instructions, promises and other principles revealed in God’s word on how we can enjoy good health, and live free of sickness and disease. We will also study how we can scripturally receive healing if at any time we find ourselves sick, and how to believe God and to pray for the healing of others. Lessons will be drawn from the entire Bible, but the core of it all will be Christ’s atoning suffering and death for us on the cross. We believe God to help us realize the following objectives:
- To acquaint people with God’’s perfect will for their healing and health.
- To help Christians develop faith in Christ as their Healer, enjoy better health, and to transition to the stage where they can help others to enjoy the same.
- To help more people obtain healing and deliverance as they receive more light in this area John 8:32.
- To foster greater intimacy with God through greater appreciation and respect for God’s word.
