Ranger Report |
|
Just because it’s cold outside doesn’t mean we’re not thinking about outdoor camping and the other fun stuff we can do while inside.
Our Adventure and Expedition Rangers are no strangers to the exciting adventure of winter camping and are already setting the date and making preparations (probably the meals). Then there’s a lot of outdoor skills that we need to be practicing - especially the knots and those cool lashing projects.
The Ranger Kids are A-Going Bowlin’. Beating Commander Tom every year has become a tradition in of itself. Let’s not forget the Winter Fun Day the district holds every year at The Ranger Farm in Gardner.
Did I forget to mention our 10th Annual and now famous Pinewood Derby. The pastors have all been mandated to participate in the Commanders Cup race - they’ll be easy pickin's for us experienced and skilled commanders. For the first time we will have a Blast from the Past Pinewood Car Show display. Come and see all the great racers from years past. We’ve been collecting them for a long time and we can sure remember some of our favorites. Here’s our chance to see them again. So get them off of your trophy shelves, dust them off because they need to come out for another showing. If you have a car from the past bring it in!!!

From the Senior Commander
In the Royal Rangers office on the top floor of the office building there is a wall that is decorated with photographs. This wall was something I wanted so that Outpost 44’s story could be seen and told. It is said that “a picture is worth a thousand words”. If that is truly the case then we have over a million words to tell our stories here at Outpost 44 from years ago to today.
Some pictures of the boys well precede my tenure. To look at a 5 year old Eddy Pichette or boys who have long since moved away or have moved on reminds us that time does not stand still for anyone. This begins to show a legacy of investments made in our boys. We can not begin to fully comprehend the boys that have childhood memories of Godly Christian men who “came alongside” and ministered to them. I look at some of the pictures and instantly I go back in time and slowly a smile will appear on my face. Who could possibly forget Darlene DeCastro’s teepee or an upside-down ice cream eating contest. We have a history, we also have a bright future but today we are given a present, let’s enjoy God’s daily bread.
All are welcomed to see this wall just come on by Sunday evening and see me and I’ll be glad to let you spend some time in front of our wall.

What We're All About
-
The Royal Rangers is an international program for boys with the Assemblies of God.
-
The Royal Rangers program is designed to reach, teach and keep boys for Jesus Christ.
-
The Royal Rangers ministry utilizes both fun and accomplishment in ministering to boys each week. It features indoor and outdoor activities that include camping, recreation, first aid, crafts, hobby skills, nature Ssudy, sports, achievements, awards, trips, World Missions, Bible study, leadership training, and much more.
These activities are among the resources used by Royal Rangers to build bridges to the hearts of boys. The heartbeat of the ministry is to enable boys to become more successful young men in every area of their lives.
For when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be strong in character and “ready” for anything. James 1:3-4 |
