Autumn Greetings from
Jane Fontaine,
Women’s Ministries Coordinator
It’s almost that time of year where the leaves are changing and there is crispness to the air in the morning. Although I must admit summer is my favorite season because it’s so carefree and non-committal, there is something about the fall that gets me excited. I love the thought of pumpkins, mums and the colors of burnt orange and yellow. I look forward with anticipation to the upcoming holidays and the joy of sharing them with family and friends.
I pray that all of you are having a wonderful autumn. This time of year tends to be busy for Women’s Ministries. We have our Autumn Tea on October 20th and the annual women’s retreat in Sturbridge, MA November 8-10 along with our Christmas Brunch in December. I hope you will plan to be a part of one of these events. It’s a great way to meet other Christian women. If you are a little hesitant about attending because you don’t know anyone, I promise you will find a friendly face and make new friends.
I always like to take a moment this time a year to reflect on all the blessings in my life. God truly has been good to me. I’m blessed to have a Christian husband, two beautiful daughters and a wonderful extended family. I have the privilege of being a part of a wonderful bible-based church and enjoy the benefits and blessings of many Christian friends. There isn’t enough time to list the blessings the Lord has bestowed upon me. If you’re feeling down or blue, I suggest you try sitting down with a pad of paper and write down a “Gratitude List”. List everything your thankful for each day. I can guarantee if you try this exercise you’ll be uplifted!
I hope you will all consider getting involved in a ministry if you have not already done so. Pray and ask the Lord to reveal to you where your gifts can best be used. There are so many ministries in our church that need your support. Yes, you do give of yourself and your time but you get back so much more!
May this harvest season bring you peace and contentment in the Lord.
Blessings,
Jane Fontaine
